This post shows the nine designs included in Paula Vaughan’s Book 80: Pillows From Paula’s Garden, published in 2003. This book departed from Paula’s usual paintings – instead of scenes or vignettes, these are detailed pictures of flowers. While the book title and the samples are pillows, these could be stitched on anything large enough to showcase them. They could be framed, made into tote bags, quilts, etc. These also look amazing stitched on darker fabrics, as some of the samples show! To see the rest of her work, and to read my hints for finding these out-of-print patterns, please visit my main Paula Vaughan post.
Front cover – showing Iris (in the basket) and Hydrangea
Black-Eyed Susan (with gold fringe) and Magnolia
Zinnias with a very fancy fringe that perfectly matches the design!
Dusty Pink Roses – a cluster of 3 “tea” roses
Back cover – showing Dark Pink Wild Roses (upper left), Light Pink Wild Roses (upper right), and Dusty and Light Pink Wild Roses (front)
Happy stitching!
